Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of the Ledgr app. By installing or using Ledgr, you agree to these terms. Please read them before using the app.
Ledgr (Lucid Ledger) is an Android application that reads bank transaction SMS notifications and organizes your spending automatically. It is developed and operated by an individual developer based in Bangladesh. Contact: rifar@yourledgr.org.
By downloading, installing, or using the Ledgr app, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, have read and understood these terms, and agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, do not install or use the app.
Ledgr parses SMS transaction alerts from Standard Chartered Bank Bangladesh and Eastern Bank Limited to build an automatic record of your spending. It stores all data on your device. An optional AI insights feature can generate spending analysis using aggregated data sent to a backend API, with your explicit consent.
Ledgr is a personal finance tool, not a financial institution. It does not hold, transfer, or manage any funds. It does not provide regulated financial services.
To function, Ledgr requires access to your device's SMS messages. By granting this permission, you authorize Ledgr to read SMS messages from SCB and EBL sender addresses on your device. You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to use the device and SMS inbox that you grant access to.
Ledgr processes SMS data locally on your device. The raw content of SMS messages is never transmitted to any server.
Nothing in Ledgr, including AI-generated insights, forecasts, spending personality analysis, or savings recommendations, constitutes financial advice. All information is provided for informational and organizational purposes only. Consult a qualified financial professional for financial decisions.
You agree to use Ledgr only for lawful personal finance tracking. You agree not to:
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the app.
- Use the app to process SMS data belonging to others without authorization.
- Use automated means to extract data from the app or its backend API.
- Attempt unauthorized access to the backend API or any related infrastructure.
- Distribute, resell, or sublicense the app or any portion of it.
- Use the app in any way that violates applicable laws in Bangladesh or your jurisdiction.
Ledgr is currently in closed beta. Access is granted at our discretion and may be revoked at any time. Features may change, be removed, or behave unexpectedly during this period. Beta access does not create any contractual entitlement to ongoing access or a specific feature set.
The Ledgr app, its design, code, and brand assets are the intellectual property of the developer. These terms do not grant you any ownership rights. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on your personal Android device for personal finance tracking purposes.
Ledgr is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:
- The app will be error-free or uninterrupted.
- SMS parsing will correctly identify every transaction from every bank format.
- AI-generated insights will be accurate or suitable for your situation.
- Data will be preserved through all app updates.
You use the app at your own risk. Always verify important financial information against your official bank statements.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use Ledgr. This includes but is not limited to loss of data, financial decisions made based on app output, or errors in transaction parsing.
Our total liability for any claim related to the app shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app (currently zero, as it is free).
Your use of Ledgr is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what data is accessed, how it is stored on your device, and how the optional AI feature works. The Privacy Policy is incorporated into these terms by reference.
We may update these terms as the app evolves. We will communicate material changes through the app or on this page. The effective date at the top will be updated with each revision. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh. Any disputes arising from use of the app shall be subject to the jurisdiction of courts in Bangladesh.
